Job summary

Onshore, a U.S.-focused R&D tax credit software company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own a major surface on one of three teams. You will write code for critical components, set technical bar via your PRs, and potentially lead a pod of engineers.

Work directly with founders on roadmap; no PM layer. Must have 5+ years designing production software; strong TypeScript experience; track record of architecture decisions; in-person at NYC office; experience with AWS and regulated domains

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, shipping, and operating production software.
• Strong proficiency in a typed language; TypeScript experience preferred.
• A track record of leading technical work: architecture that shipped.
• High ownership: comfortable with ambiguity and defining problems and plans.
• You care about correctness; output is reviewed by tax professionals and IRS.
• Clear, precise written and verbal communication.
• Able to work in person at our New York City office.

Responsibilities

• Own a major product surface on one of our teams and write code for parts that can't be wrong.
• Set the technical bar through your own PRs.
• Optionally lead a pod of one to three engineers: daily code reviews and weekly 1:1s.
• Make build-versus-buy and long-term architectural calls.
• Own and raise the evaluation bar for your surface; the harness is shared, the standard is yours.
• Work directly with the founders on roadmap; no PM layer between you and the business.
