Job summary

Corporation Service Company is seeking a Software Engineer to help build the next generation of tax preparation products. The role offers a fully remote arrangement within the United States, with occasional on-site time as needed.

The team emphasizes test-first development, cross-functional collaboration, and a flexible stack (Python, Node.js/TypeScript, C#/.Net, React) on cloud infrastructure. You will design, implement, and mature core systems across data ingestion, computation, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; 1–3 years of industry experience.
• Contributed to shipping production systems and maintained the solution.
• Experience with agent-led development tools such as Claude Code.
• Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, relational databases, version control, and CI/CD.
• Quality tests written as you build; not afterthought.
• Product mindset: solve user problems, not just code.
• Comfort learning new domain quickly and independently.
• Experience with researchers or open-ended problems.
• Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core product systems across data ingestion, computation, UI, and output.
• Own features end-to-end from requirements to release and iteration.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and own tests/tools the team depends on.
• Work with data security as a priority.
• Turn research prototypes into reliable, scalable production code.
• Write and review design documents and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering standards.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance, security, reliability.
• Document systems and decisions for quick, safe team movement.
