Onshore is hiring a Staff Software Engineer in New York City. You will define and drive the technical strategy for a pillar, own end-to-end solutions, and lead infrastructure investments to enable future capability. The role emphasizes architecture, delivery, and influence without direct authority.

Expected to mentor peers, collaborate with leadership, and ship robust, compliant systems for tax credit software used by U.S. companies. In-person work at our NYC office is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering with staff-level impact across multiple teams.
• Proven track record designing highly available and correct systems.
• Strong architectural judgment and hands-on coding ability.
• Ability to influence direction without direct authority and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive long-term technical strategy for one pillar (agent infrastructure, tax computation, data pipelines).
• Own end-to-end solutions for durable workflows, versioned tax computation, and filing pipelines.
• Identify infrastructure investments to enable future capabilities.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions and develop roadmaps balancing delivery and platform health.
• Advise founders and leadership on trade-offs and business implications.
• Mentor and raise the bar across the team through design reviews.
