Job summary

State Street Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to redesign and deliver a market-leading OTC derivatives solution. You will contribute as an individual contributor within the OTC product development team, prototyping to production, liaising with SMEs, and supporting customers and other teams.

You will work in an Agile environment, guiding technical direction, code reviews, and architectural decisions while mentoring teammates and ensuring high-quality software across Java,

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10-12 years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• 5+ years in financial services developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR or Wealth Management is strongly desired.
• Demonstrated experience with object-oriented programming, compilers/interpreters, databases (RDBMS), scripting and modern languages.
• At least 5 years of Agile development experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a development team’s staff, including assignment of work items, performance, engagement and development.
• Design and develop software solutions with Product Owner and manage backlogs for the function.
• Lead Scrum process and foster continuous improvement.
• Identify improvements in team development and quality; define new strategies and tooling.
• Review and approve software specifications, projects and schedules.
• Provide expert guidance during code reviews and mentor staff on technical problems.
• Monitor progress on initiatives to meet product and scheduling objectives.
• Review testing strategy and ensure high product quality.
• Coordinate with other Scrum teams to ensure seamless integration of workflows.
• Mentor team members to build technical and domain knowledge.
