Job summary

NCR Voyix Corporation in Atlanta, GA seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build and evolve an observability platform. You will design scalable Go services that collect and analyze telemetry across distributed cloud environments, integrating with cloud-native monitoring tools and internal SRE tooling.

The role emphasizes instrumenting code for metrics, traces, and logs, collaborating with SRE, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience building scalable applications and services.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) with production-grade applications.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications in GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with observability concepts: metrics, traces, logs, and telemetry pipelines.
• Experience instrumenting code with observability standards like OpenTelemetry.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with Grafana/Prometheus and cloud monitoring tools.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Go-based platform services.
• Build components for collecting, processing, and exporting telemetry data.
• Integrate with cloud-native monitoring solutions and internal SRE tooling.
• Create a monitoring platform providing actionable insights into health and performance.
• Instrument applications to generate meaningful metrics, traces, and logs.
• Collaborate with SRE, Product, Operations, and Engineering teams on observability needs.
• Develop APIs, plugins, and integrations for telemetry workflows.
• Participate in architectural discussions on distributed systems and cloud infra.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues in cloud environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated tests to improve quality.
• Stay current with observability trends and cloud-native tech.
