Valar Atomics Inc. is building the operating system for its advanced energy platform in Torrance, CA.

The Senior Software Engineer works with reactor engineers, manufacturing, and operations to create fast, scalable tools that accelerate design, manufacturing, and licensing. You will own end‑to‑end development, deploy to cloud and on‑prem, and mentor a growing software team while collaborating with operators and industry experts.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience writing software and deploying to production.
• Experience designing and architecting scalable systems across teams.
• Experience building web applications end to end with user interface.
• Cloud and containerized deployment, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
• Hands‑on experience shipping production work with AI coding agents and assistants, with verification.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and build full-stack software systems and infrastructure.
• Build rich, fast web interfaces used daily by engineers, operators, and technicians.
• Integrate and extend PLM, ERP, MES, and document management via REST/GraphQL APIs and messaging.
• Develop tooling to minimize manual document handling and preserve traceability.
• Own deployment, observability, and health of services including CI/CD and IaC.
• Design data models and interfaces to keep cross‑functional records consistent and auditable.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across client, service, data, deployment, and network layers.
• Leverage AI coding agents in workflows and review outputs to ensure quality.
• Lead design and code reviews, set technical directions, and mentor engineers.
