Valar Atomics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Torrance, CA to build the operating system for our nuclear-enabled hardware ecosystem. You will collaborate with reactor engineers, systems, licensing, and operations to ship fast, reliable tooling.

Join a team delivering full-stack software, modern interfaces, and robust deployment practices. Regular travel to our Utah pilot plant is expected as we scale systems across sites.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience in production systems.
• Experience in typed and untyped languages (e.g., Java/C#/Go and Python/JS).
• Proven ability to design scalable, multi-team architectures.
• End-to-end web application development with UI.
• Experience with cloud, containers, IaC, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and build full-stack software systems and infrastructure.
• Create fast web interfaces used by engineers and operators daily.
• Integrate PLM/ERP/MES and other systems via REST/GraphQL and queues.
• Develop tooling to automate document handling and traceability.
• Own deployment, observability, and on-call for services.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers as the team grows.
