Job summary

McKinsey & Company’s Life Sciences AI team, integrated with QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey, seeks a senior software engineer to build AI that transforms Pharma and MedTech. You will design and deliver agentic, full-stack applications addressing high-value use cases, and evolve pilots into production-ready systems across platforms and services.

You will collaborate with distributed teams, write modular code, and contribute to industry-shaping tools while growing as a technologist and leader within

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing full-stack applications.
• Experience building agentic applications and AI agents with SDKs from frontier labs or similar.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containers (AWS, Azure, Docker).
• Strong Python for agent development, API development, UI (React/Next.js).
• Knowledge graphs are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build differentiated agentic and full-stack applications for Life Sciences use cases.
• Transform pilots into production-ready, integrated systems shaping end-to-end workflows.
• Independently design and deliver small to mid-sized agentic assets for complex client problems.
• Contribute to industry-shaping tools and reusable components across infra, platforms, and services.
• Collaborate with distributed teams and stakeholders to deliver impactful analytics solutions.
