Job summary

McKinsey & Company’s Life Sciences AI team, integrated with QuantumBlack, seeks a senior software engineer to build AI that transforms Pharma and MedTech. You will design and deliver agentic, full-stack applications addressing high-value commercial use cases across Life Sciences.

You will create scalable, production-ready systems, architect and deliver small to mid-sized products, and collaborate with distributed teams to drive client impact and industry-leading capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering full-stack applications.
• Demonstrated experience building agentic applications and AI agents, including single- and multi-agent workflows and tool/function-calling, memory, planning, HITL patterns.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containers (AWS, Azure, Docker) and DevOps (CircleCI, Git).
• Strong programming skills in Python for agent development; API development; UI frameworks (React.js, Next.js).

Responsibilities

• Design and build differentiated agentic and full-stack applications for Life Sciences use cases.
• Transform pilots into production-ready systems that reshape workflows and patient impact.
• Independently design and deliver small to mid-sized agentic assets addressing complex client problems.
• Contribute to industry-shaping tools and reusable components across infrastructure, platforms, and services.
