Job summary

McKinsey & Company, a leading global advisory firm, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build agentic, full-stack applications integrated with QuantumBlack for Life Sciences. You will shape end-to-end commercial workflows and deliver production-ready systems, collaborating with distributed teams and stakeholders to drive patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes building scalable, reusable components, leveraging cloud platforms, and applying cutting-edge AI/agent technologies.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience developing full-stack applications.
Demonstrated experience building agentic applications and AI agents, including multi-agent workflows and tool calling, memory, planning, HITL patterns.
Hands-on experience across the full stack: cloud platforms/containers (AWS, Azure, Docker), DevOps (CircleCI, Git), databases (SQL, PGVector), Python for agent development, API development, UI (React.js/Next.js).
Experience with knowledge graphs to structure data is a plus.
Collaborative work with developers and non-technical stakeholders.
Agile experience with sprint ceremonies and pair programming.
Strong time management and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design and build differentiated agentic and full-stack applications for high-value Life Sciences use cases.
Help transform pilots into production-ready systems that improve end-to-end workflows.
Independently design and deliver small to mid-sized agentic assets for complex client problems.
Contribute to industry-shaping tools and reusable components.
Collaborate with distributed teams and stakeholders to deliver impactful analytics solutions.
Write high-quality modular code, implement best practices, and assess feasibility of innovative solutions.
Grow as a technologist and leader within McKinsey's global network.
