Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Senior Software Developer to provide hands-on technical leadership for CCCSE's suite of web apps, surveys, and data systems. You will maintain and connect systems across stacks, translate needs into technical solutions, and mentor a junior IT staff member.

Responsibilities include designing and deploying applications, leading cross-functional work, and ensuring secure, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or related field, plus at least five years of professional software development experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining ColdFusion applications.
• Experience with relational databases: MS SQL Server and/or MySQL.
• Experience building secure, database-driven web apps with server-side tech.
• Experience API integrations, data exchanges, and authentication methods.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, test, document, and deploy web apps, databases, and integrations for CCCSE, including legacy ColdFusion modernization or replacement.
• Provide technical leadership across CCCSE environment (ColdFusion, PHP, SQL Server, MySQL, Windows Server, BI, analytics).
• Improve connections among apps and data flows to reduce manual work and improve maintainability.
• Work with staff to analyze processes, gather requirements, and deliver usable solutions for survey administration and analytics.
• Supervise and mentor junior IT staff, assign work, review outputs, and maintain technical docs.
• Coordinate with University IT, vendors, and service providers to maintain secure, reliable tech services.
