Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking an experienced STS Modernization Developer to support the modernization of legacy applications and transition outdated systems toward scalable, maintainable, and cloud-ready architectures.

The ideal candidate will analyze legacy apps, refactor or rebuild components, modernize APIs and integrations, and support transformation initiatives from development through deployment and cutover.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in application modernization, legacy system transformation, or application migration.
• Strong hands-on development with Java, .NET, Node.js, or Python.
• Understanding of microservices, REST APIs, CI/CD, and cloud-ready design.
• Experience with legacy apps, monoliths, on-premises infrastructure, and legacy API layers.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate modernization requirements into practical technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze legacy applications and recommend modernization strategies.

Job Title: STS Modernization Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced STS Modernization Developer to support the modernization of legacy applications and transition outdated systems toward scalable, maintainable, and cloud-ready architectures.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development experience and a proven ability to analyze legacy applications, refactor or rebuild components, modernize APIs and integrations, and support application transformation initiatives from development through deployment and cutover.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze legacy applications and recommend appropriate modernization strategies, including refactoring, rebuilding, and replatforming.
• Design, develop, and implement modern application components using current programming languages, frameworks, and architectural patterns.
• Refactor outdated application components to improve maintainability, scalability, security, and performance.
• Modernize APIs, integrations, and data flows to align with current technology standards.
• Work with monolithic, legacy, and on-premises applications and identify opportunities for decoupling and modernization.
• Develop and support RESTful APIs and modern service-oriented or microservices-based solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, developers, and modernization teams to deliver end-to-end application upgrades.
• Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues and implement effective solutions.
• Participate in application testing, technical documentation, release management, deployment, and cutover planning.
• Contribute to modernization standards, development practices, and architectural improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in application modernization, legacy system transformation, or application migration.
• Strong hands-on software development experience with one or more of the following:
  • Java
  • .NET
  • Node.js
  • Python
• Strong understanding of modern application architectures, including:
  • Microservices
  • REST APIs
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Cloud-ready application design
• Experience working with legacy applications, monolithic architectures, older frameworks, on-premises infrastructure, and legacy API layers.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand existing systems and translate modernization requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud migration or modernization using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies and orchestration platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and practices.
• Familiarity with application/code scanning and migration analysis tools.Experience with service rewriting, replatforming, application decomposition, or monolith decoupling.
• Experience supporting modernization initiatives through testing, deployment, and production cutover.
