Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field, with at least five years of progressively responsible software‑development experience.
• Demonstrated professional expertise developing and maintaining ColdFusion applications.
• Experience with relational database design, development, query optimization, and administration support using Microsoft SQL Server and/or MySQL.
• Experience developing and maintaining secure, database‑driven web applications using server‑side technologies.
• Experience integrating systems through APIs, imports/exports, scheduled processes, authentication mechanisms, and other data‑exchange methods.
• Experience supporting applications hosted in a Windows Server environment.
• Experience supervising, leading, mentoring, or formally managing technical staff.
• Previous professional experience supporting community‑college clients through a higher‑education organization, association, research center, or comparable setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, test, document, and deploy web applications, databases, and integrations supporting CCCSE programs, including legacy ColdFusion applications and their modernization.
• Provide technical leadership across CCCSE’s environment (ColdFusion, PHP, SQL Server, MySQL, FileMaker Server, Windows Server, survey‑platform integrations, business intelligence, and statistical tools).
• Assess and improve connections among applications, databases, and workflows to reduce manual work and improve data consistency.
• Work with CCCSE staff to analyze business processes, gather requirements, and deliver usable solutions supporting survey administration and institutional analysis.
• Supervise a junior‑level IT staff member, including assigning and prioritizing work, mentoring, reviewing work products, and maintaining technical documentation.
• Collaborate with University IT, vendors, and external service providers to maintain secure, reliable technology services.
