Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our Arlington, VA based Engineering team. You will lead design, development, testing, and integration of software solutions to support customers, ensuring high quality, secure, and performant software that adheres to coding standards and technical designs.

The role requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance and on-site presence with at least four days in the Arlington office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, cybersecurity, or related field.
• 7-10+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Proven experience mentoring and leading junior engineers.
• Expert understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Expert understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, algorithms, data structures and software design patterns.
• Ability to convert customer requirements into a refined vision.
• Experience with software testing and configuration management.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Scope and define requirements to validate and control scope within a project.
• Lead development of software systems and implement solutions using multiple languages and stacks.
• Drive design reviews and secure coding practices; lead test and integration activities.
• Manage risks and deliver contractual artifacts on schedule.
