Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is hiring a Software Engineer to join our Engineering team, based on-site in multiple locations including San Diego, CA. You will design, develop, test, and integrate software to support customers while meeting secure coding standards and architectural designs.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years of experience, strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and modern programming languages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent full-time professional experience.
• 3–5+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, as needed.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, distributed systems and data structures.

Responsibilities

• Scope and define requirements and validate deliverables within projects.
• Develop software solutions using multiple languages and technology stacks.
• Design, implement, and test software interfaces across networks.
• Ensure secure coding practices and participate in code reviews.
• Support test and integration activities at IDT labs and customer sites.
• Contribute to risk assessment and delivery of contractual deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
