Job summary

The Farmer's Dog, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the core systems that scale our direct-to-consumer pet care platform.

You will design, build, and operate features end-to-end, partnering with Product, Design, Data Analytics, and Lifecycle teams to deliver reliable software at scale. You will own architectural decisions, lead cross-functional collaboration, and relentlessly pursue improvements in data models, deployment, and system reliability across our growing pet care

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of full-stack engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating production systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ownership mindset and problem-solving.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of complex systems and features.
• Decompose ambiguous problems into concrete work and ship code.
• Understand data relationships and data propagation across systems.
• Own production operation and monitoring with awareness of SLAs.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data Analytics, and Lifecycle Comms.
• Develop the pod and mentor engineers through code reviews and design feedback.
• Work in our stack: TypeScript, GraphQL, Temporal, Postgres, AWS, and evaluate AI tools.
