The Farmer's Dog is seeking a seasoned software engineer to help lead architecture and scale across our systems. You will partner with product, data, and engineering to drive AI-enabled, reliable platforms that power our direct-to-consumer pet-health mission.

You will mentor engineers, shape technology strategy, and navigate rapid growth while maintaining a dog-first focus and an in-office culture in NYC. The role offers USD compensation aligned with NYC market data.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in software engineering with deep systems thinking.
Led architectural initiatives that improved reliability and scalability.
Partnered with product and data teams to align technical strategy with business goals.
Ability to mentor senior engineers and drive best practices.

Responsibilities

Guide strategic evolution of core and new systems, leading migrations and scalable architecture.
Influence product and business strategy by identifying risks and opportunities.
Foster alignment across pods and partners to support engineering goals.
Collaborate with Staff Engineers, Engineering Managers, Product, Design and Data.
Assess and adopt new technologies with a focus on AI and automation.
Lead the org's technical approach to AI, balancing leverage with responsible use.
Ensure cohesive experiences across digital and physical products for customers.
Develop deep data flow expertise to guide architectural decisions and integrations.
Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards across the organization.
