Job summary

Inductive Automation LLC in California is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to design, build, and maintain software products. You’ll participate in all phases of development and may interact with customers, with a hybrid work setup.

The role requires solid CS fundamentals, hands-on Java coding, and agile teamwork, focusing on scalable, secure software across the lifecycle. You’ll mentor peers, review code, and influence architecture for maintainability.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of software engineering or software development experience.
• Solid understanding of computer science concepts and object-oriented design, multithreaded architecture, data structures, algorithms, and cybersecurity.
• Hands-on programming experience using Java.
• Experience with IntelliJ or equivalent and Git.
• Creative problem-solving skills and passion for user-friendly applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working on a team using agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the full lifecycle of projects or features from design to deployment.
• Improve code structure and architecture for testability and maintainability.
• Write, co-write, and review design documentation.
• Maintain proficiency in key technical areas.
• Collaborate with team and adjacent teams to solve problems.
• Escalate issues with broader impact and assist others with mentoring.
