Job summary

Inductive Automation, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I (Java) to design, implement, test, and maintain software for our automation products. You will participate in all phases of development and may interact with customers to gather requirements.

This full-time, hybrid role requires being in or near Sacramento, with regular in-office collaboration two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and commuting to our Folsom, CA office.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong OO design, multi-threading and cybersecurity basics.
• Hands-on programming with Java and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience building data pipelines or streaming data.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of features from design to deployment.
• Improve code structure for testability and maintainability.
• Write and review design documentation.
• Maintain high proficiency in key technical areas.
• Collaborate with teams to solve problems and escalate when needed.
• Mentor other engineers and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to product areas and potentially IC leadership.
