Job summary

Inductive Automation, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I (Java) to build and maintain software across the product life cycle. Hybrid work with in-office collaboration two days weekly in California; candidates near the Sacramento area are preferred.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, strong CS fundamentals, and hands-on work with Java/TypeScript, SQL, and data pipelines. Collaboration with agile teams is core to the role.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of computer science concepts and OO design, multi-threading, data structures, algorithms, and cybersecurity.
• Hands-on programming with Java and/or Typescript.
• Experience using IntelliJ or equivalent, Git, Webpack.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
• Experience ingesting data at scale (streams, high-volume).
• Creative problem solving and passion for user-facing apps.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork in Agile environments.
• Knowledge of concurrency and high-performance applications.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of projects or features including design, development and deployment.
• Improve code structure and architecture for testability and maintainability.
• Write and review design documentation.
• Mentor and assist other engineers; conduct code reviews.
• Escalate and resolve broader scope problems with teams.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams to solve problems.
