Job summary

Inductive Automation, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I (Java) to design, implement, test, and deploy software across the product life cycle. You will collaborate with customers when needed to clarify requirements and support post-release maintenance.

The role is full-time and hybrid with in-office collaboration two days weekly, near Sacramento, CA, with access to the Folsom office. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of software development experience, strong CS fundamentals, and

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of software engineering or software development experience.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, multi-threaded architecture, data structures, algorithms, and cybersecurity.
• Hands-on programming in Java and/or Typescript.
• Experience with IntelliJ/Git/Webpack.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with large-scale data ingestion pipelines.
• Creative problem-solving and user-focused mindset.
• Strong communication and teamwork in Agile environments.
• Concurrency and multi-threading concepts for performance.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage full lifecycle of projects or features from design to deployment.
• Improve code structure and architecture for testability and maintainability.
• Write, co-write, and review design documentation.
• Maintain high proficiency in one or more technical areas.
• Prioritize and complete unowned or undesirable work to enable rapid delivery.
• Ensure work meets quality standards.
• Collaborate with team and adjacent teams to solve problems.
• Escalate issues with wider impact as needed.
• Mentor other engineers individually.
• Perform thoughtful, timely code reviews.
• Own product areas or lead roles (Product Lead, Scrum Master).
