Job summary

Inductive Automation, LLC in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I (Java) to lead end-to-end software development, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and documentation. The role emphasizes collaboration with customers to gather requirements and resolve issues, and requires strong object-oriented and multi-threaded design skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of software engineering or software development experience.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, multi-threaded architecture, data structures and algorithms.
• Hands-on programming with Java and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with IntelliJ or equivalent, Git and Webpack.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
• Experience handling high-volume data pipelines.
• Creative problem-solving and excellent communication.
• Experience in agile development and teamwork.
• Knowledge of concurrency and performance considerations.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of projects from design to deployment.
• Improve code structure and architecture for testability and maintainability.
• Write, co-write, and review design documentation.
• Maintain high proficiency in one or more technical areas.
• Prioritize unowned work to help the team move faster.
• Ensure work meets quality standards.
• Collaborate with teams to solve problems; escalate when needed.
• Mentor other engineers and conduct code reviews.
• Possibly lead product areas or serve in IC leadership roles.
