Job summary

Inductive Automation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I (Java) to build and maintain software across the product lifecycle. The role involves design, specification, implementation, testing, deployment, and customer troubleshooting as needed.

This is a full‑time, hybrid position with regular in‑office collaboration, requiring commuting to Folsom, CA. Located in or near Sacramento region, you will work with Agile teams, write‑and‑review design docs, and contribute to multiple product areas.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java and object‑oriented design, as well as multi‑threaded architectures.
• Experience with SQL relational databases and data pipelines at scale.
• Hands‑on coding in Java and/or TypeScript and familiarity with debugging and testing.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of projects or features from design to deployment.
• Improve code structure and architecture for testability and maintainability.
• Write and review design documentation and ensure quality standards.
• Collaborate with teams to solve problems and escalate when needed.
• Mentor other engineers and perform thoughtful code reviews.
• Lead one or more product areas or assume IC leadership roles when required.
