Job summary

Amazon Leo for Government is hiring a senior software leader to design, build, and maintain foundational software for government customers. You will develop new services for mission critical space safety applications and coordinate with external systems and teams at scale.

The role requires deep expertise in high-assurance, fault-tolerant software and Rust, with onsite work in Sunnyvale, CA. U.S. citizenship is required and relocation benefits are available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming in at least one language (e.g., Rust).
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering lead.

Responsibilities

• Design, build out, and maintain foundational software for Amazon Leo Government.
• Develop new services for mission critical space safety and sustainability apps.
• Coordinate with external systems and organizations at scale.
• Lead internal and vendor teams to deliver software and interfaces.
• Ensure systems meet performance, availability, interoperability, and security needs.
• Communicate project health, risks and issues to stakeholders.
