Job summary

Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) is developing secure, high-performance satellite communications software for U.S. National/International security customers.

You will design, build, and maintain foundational software that extends Amazon Leo capabilities to NASA, DoD and other government clients, coordinating with external systems at scale. You’ll work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, applying deep expertise in fault-tolerant software and languages like Rust.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 5+ years programming in at least one language.
• 5+ years leading design or architecture of systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• 5+ years of full SDLC experience including reviews, builds and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Utilize network layer packet processing and SDN to build high data rate interfaces for government needs.
• Demonstrate interfaces and architectures in a simulated test environment.
• Address complex problems using the Amazon Leo constellation for government customers.
• Lead internal and vendor teams to deliver software and interfaces.
• Ensure performance, availability, reliability, interoperability and security requirements.
• Communicate project health, risks and issues to stakeholders.
• Escalate urgent issues and drive resolution to closure.
• Provide visualizations and document results across multi-disciplinary teams.
