Job summary

Amazon in Redmond is seeking an outstanding software engineer to join Project Leo, a bold space program delivering fast, reliable satellite avionics. You will contribute to embedded software across Rust/C/C++ and help drive secure, scalable systems for space applications.

You will write drivers, work on I2C/SPI/CAN interfaces, and collaborate with hardware teams to bring up boards. Mentoring and leadership experience are valued as you help shape architecture across critical subsystems.

Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one language.
5+ years leading design or architecture of systems.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or engineering team lead.
5+ years full SDLC including reviews, CI/CD, testing and ops.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Security engineering knowledge including cryptography and protocols.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded software in Rust, C, C++, or similar languages.
Write device drivers and system applications for satellite interfaces.
Develop security features for satellite systems.
Collaborate with software and hardware teams for board bring-up and integration.
