T. Rowe Price is seeking a senior software engineer to advance cloud-based platforms used by risk analysts, portfolio managers, and quants. You will contribute to modernizing legacy systems and building the next generation of cloud-enabled applications that impact investment decisions.

The role combines deep technical work with business impact, requiring collaboration across engineering, product, and business teams, and offering a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of progressive software engineering in OO languages like C#/.NET or Java.
• Cloud-native design experience in AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and data-intensive apps.
• Proficiency with SQL.
• Experience contributing to technical design/architecture.
• Commitment to automated testing, code reviews, observability, and CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver scalable software across applications, services, databases, and infrastructure.
• Develop backend services and cloud-native apps using modern OO languages, microservices, and AWS.
• Take end-to-end ownership of applications and services including development and support.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and align on technical direction.
• Make thoughtful engineering decisions and iterate based on outcomes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business goals into technical solutions.
• Apply modern engineering practices like automated testing, code reviews, observability, CI/CD.
• Identify and reduce technical debt while improving data flows and design.
• Ensure analytics and risk data are reliable and visible across platforms.
