Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in the Developer Infrastructure group to design, build, and operate core services supporting CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure. You will own end-to-end services, focusing on reliability, security, and observability, and you will collaborate with multiple engineering teams to drive platform improvements.

The role requires 5+ years delivering production-grade backend or platform systems, with strong Go (or similar)

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production software.
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals with Go or similar.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, and CI/CD tools.
• Ability to own services from design through production.
• Proven observability and security focus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core developer infrastructure services across CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure.
• Improve key engineering productivity metrics, including build and CI time, deploy speed and safety, and test feedback quality.
• Own services end to end, including architecture, observability, SLOs, and on-call operations.
• Partner with engineering teams across Coinbase to understand pain points and turn them into platform improvements.
• Lead technical design for cross-cutting projects and drive them through production.
• Mentor engineers and help shape the technical direction of the platform.
