Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Deploy@Scale team to provide technical leadership for the platform that powers safe, reliable, and automated deployments at scale across the company.

This is a senior IC role with autonomy to shape architecture, drive RFCs, mentor engineers, and partner with the EM and leadership to influence multiple teams over multi-quarter roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated technical leadership beyond your own code.
• Judgment for ambiguity in a fast-moving, complex environment.
• Deep experience with safety, observability, and automation in production systems.
• Experience influencing technical direction across teams.
• Comfort using AI as a working tool in development.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the Deploy@Scale platform.
• Set technical direction across multiple work streams and RFCs.
• Mentor engineers and review designs pre-implementation, raising the technical bar.
• Define platform scope, tradeoffs, and long-term architecture decisions.
