Job summary

You will work with Product, Frontend, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and Engineering Managers, influencing roadmaps without formal authority in a remote-first environment that values clear written communication and self-direction.

Qualifications

• Proven cross-team technical leadership.
• Deep backend architecture experience.
• Experience modernizing monoliths toward modular architectures.
• Ability to define and document standards for APIs, contracts, testing, security, and operability.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical capability of the wider team.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and delivery of large backend initiatives spanning teams.
• Drive modular backend, service, data, and platform architecture modernization.
• Define and improve standards for APIs, contracts, testing, security, observability, and production readiness.
• Create patterns for dependency management, data ownership, and operational documentation.
• Participate in on-call and incident response for owned systems and drive improvements.
• Shape technical direction in partnership with Product and Engineering leadership.
• Mentor engineers, reduce technical debt, and propagate reusable patterns.
• Lead AI adoption and governance for agentic workflows.
