Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Core Cryptography to drive the design and delivery of high-availability cryptographic infrastructure that safeguards customer assets and complies with global regulations.

You will own critical components, lead deployment and observability, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Security, Product, and Policy teams to ensure secure, scalable systems in a zero-trust environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with distributed systems.
• Experience with cryptography, KMS, or HSMs in security-critical environments.
• Proficient in Golang, Java, C++, or Rust; Golang preferred.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and multi-env cloud infrastructure.
• Experience mentoring and leading complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Own design and end-to-end integration of cryptographic infrastructure for global regulatory compliance.
• Lead infrastructure setup, continuous deployment, and observability to resolve production incidents.
• Drive complex integration challenges in a zero-trust environment.
• Mentor team, enforce code reviews and comprehensive design documents.
• Collaborate with Security, Product, and Policy stakeholders for flawless execution.
