Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Core Cryptography team. You will design and build high-availability cryptographic infrastructure underpinning global regulatory compliance and asset security.

You will lead deployments, improve observability, mentor teammates, and collaborate with Security, Product, and Policy to deliver mission-critical services in a zero-trust environment. This remote-first role supports US-based teams with flexible collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in distributed systems.
• Experience with cryptography, KMS/HSMs, and MPC preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Go, Java, C++, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, and end-to-end integration of critical cryptographic infrastructure for global regulatory compliance.
• Lead infrastructure setup, CI/CD, and observability to resolve production incidents and ensure recovery.
• Drive secure, resilient infrastructure in a zero-trust, high-stakes environment.
• Mentor the team, promote rigorous reviews and best practices across engineering.
• Partner with Security, Product, and Policy to drive flawless execution.
