Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Core Cryptography to drive the most critical cryptographic infrastructure that safeguards assets and ensures regulatory compliance. You will own design and end-to-end execution of sensitive services in a zero-trust environment.

You will mentor engineers, promote best practices, and collaborate with Security, Product, and Policy to deliver reliable, scalable crypto infrastructure across multiple environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building highly available, distributed systems.
• Experience with cryptography, KMS, or HSMs in security-critical environments.
• Extensive programming in Golang, Java, C++, or Rust; Golang preferred.
• Experience operating Tier-0 or critical infrastructure with cloud infrastructure as code.
• Experience mentoring team members and driving project delivery.
• Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own design, implementation, and end-to-end integration of cryptographic infrastructure for regulatory compliance.
• Lead infrastructure setup, deployment, and observability to prevent incidents and enable recovery.
• Drive complex integration in a zero-trust environment with secure, resilient infrastructure.
• Shape engineering quality through rigorous code reviews and design documentation.
• Collaborate with Security, Product, and Policy to ensure flawless execution.
