Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Core Cryptography to advance cryptographic infrastructure that protects customer assets and ensures regulatory compliance. You will own critical services, drive reliability, and mentor peers in a high-stakes, zero-trust environment.

The role emphasizes building highly available systems with cross-functional collaboration across Security, Product, and Policy, while leveraging cloud infrastructure as code and strong cryptographic foundations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience with applied cryptography, KMS or HSMs
• Proficient in Golang, Java, C++, or Rust
• Experience operating Tier-0 or critical infrastructure with cloud IaC

Responsibilities

• Own design, implementation, and end-to-end integration of cryptographic infrastructure for global regulatory compliance.
• Lead infrastructure setup, CD, and observability to resolve incidents and ensure recovery.
• Drive integration challenges and build secure, resilient infra in a zero-trust environment.
• Mentor the team, enforce code reviews, and promote best practices across the group.
• Collaborate with Security, Product, and Policy to ensure flawless execution.
