Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Blockchain Networks team. You will build the infrastructure that connects blockchain protocols with Coinbase's internal services, delivering reliable APIs and platform primitives. You will own multi-quarter initiatives and improve latency, reliability, and cost of the crypto stack.

You will collaborate with product and platform teams to define data contracts, ship SDKs, and influence cross-chain operations for Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production services.
• Experience designing, scaling, and maintaining distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with at least two: Golang, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB.
• Direct experience with blockchain protocols or crypto infrastructure.
• Ability to decompose complex systems into microservices with clear APIs.
• Use of Generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of blockchain network infrastructure that abstracts blockchain complexity into reliable platform APIs.
• Lead multi-quarter initiatives including new chain integrations, re-architecture efforts, and data migrations to improve latency, reliability, and cost.
• Define and maintain APIs, SLOs, and observability for the systems you build, including on-call ownership.
• Partner with product and platform teams to establish data contracts and ship SDKs and platform primitives.
• Build deep technical context across top blockchain protocols and apply it to cross-chain operations.
