Job summary

Thomson Reuters Corp in the United States seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Content Tools to own APIs and retrieval components enabling AI agents to access TR’s legal content with precision and governance. You will work with Python, FastAPI, AWS, Vespa, and Claude Agent SDK; ship end-to-end, write acceptance criteria, and participate in on-call reliability.

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering designing production backend, API, or data-infrastructure systems.
Mastery of Python and API design with a rigorous testing discipline.
Experience with AWS, Datadog, and CI/CD practices; operating in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and own Content Tools end-to-end: APIs and retrieval components for precise access to TR content.
Build API-first: versioned contracts, schemas, and ownership metadata for self-service use.
Collaborate on Vespa-based retrieval and AI-assisted development across the toolchain and CI/CD pipelines.
