Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering for the Content Tools platform, leading a distributed team to design, build, test, deploy, and operate APIs and tooling used by AI agents and internal products. You will own end-to-end delivery, governance, and developer experience, partnering with TR Labs and CoCounsel teams.

The role requires strong Python, API design, and CI/CD expertise, plus leadership of a production-ready platform with on-call responsibilities and SLOs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in leadership.
• Experience designing and operating API-first systems consumed by multiple teams.
• Proficiency in Python and CI/CD practices.
• Experience building and governing shared platform infrastructure in a distributed model.
• Familiarity with information retrieval concepts and retrieval patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ~10 software engineers, including hiring, onboarding and performance management.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of the Content Tools platform and its production operations.
• Define governance, contribution workflows, and quality gates for a growing tool catalog.
• Collaborate with Labs, Product, and CoCounsel Engineering to align with agentic workflows.
