Job summary

Auvik Networks is seeking a senior software engineer to help build a cloud-based network management service that monitors millions of devices. You’ll work on scalable, distributed systems and contribute to high-quality production code alongside a talented team.

You will design microservices architectures, deploy with Kubernetes, use AWS, and leverage Kafka for streaming data. You’ll mentor teammates and explore AI-enabled approaches to improve reliability and delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience writing quality production code in C++ or Golang.
• Experience designing and developing microservices.
• Knowledge of cloud computing, especially AWS.
• Proficiency with building reliable, scalable software on top of Kafka.
• Hands-on engineer who uses AI pragmatically to solve hard problems and improves system design.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum.
• Strong CI/CD knowledge for testing and deployment.
• Mentoring and guiding junior/intermediate engineers.
• Willingness to explore new technologies and make informed recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Design architectures for microservices that are scalable and fault-tolerant.
• Deploy and manage containerized apps using Kubernetes.
• Design and implement communication protocols for a distributed system.
• Write reliable, high-performance code for tens of thousands of customer sites.
• Apply AI-enabled techniques to build scalable, observable systems and accelerate delivery.
• Develop tooling using networking data like Netflow, Syslog, etc.
• Expand solution depth with networking knowledge of devices and protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering and product management to deliver solutions.
