Job summary

Bandwidth is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead by example in designing and scaling distributed systems used by millions. You will own services end-to-end, from design through production monitoring, and build REST APIs, customer dashboards, and AWS-based infrastructure.

You will mentor peers, collaborate with product owners, and apply AI as a core engineering tool to accelerate delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building web services in a modern language (Java preferred).
• Experience deploying cloud-based apps, preferably AWS.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, networks, and REST API design.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Own services end-to-end from design to production monitoring.
• Create and maintain REST APIs and customer-facing dashboards.
• Lead solutions across teams to ship value aligned to customer needs.
• Identify and solve scaling problems for high availability and fault tolerance.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Partner with product owners to translate requirements into maintainable solutions.
• Use AI as a core engineering tool in development, debugging, and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement and platform reliability.
