Job summary

The Gersh Agency is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve platforms powering our entertainment business. You will work across cloud infrastructure, ERP integrations, CMS, and AI-driven features with architectural ownership.

This hands-on role offers exposure to AI/automation, business intelligence, and scalable distributed systems while mentoring teammates and collaborating with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into reliable software solutions.

Qualifications

15+ years of professional software engineering experience with senior/lead experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong proficiency in C#, SQL, and front-end frameworks like vue.js.
Deep hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud including compute, storage, networking, serverless, and managed DB services.
Proven experience designing and operating scalable distributed systems (microservices, event-driven, caching, messaging).
Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or Bicep).
Hands-on experience integrating with ERP systems such as Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Odoo, or Workday.
Experience building on/extending CMS platforms (Contentful, Strapi, Sanity, AEM, Sitecore) including headless architectures.
Practical experience shipping AI/ML features to production (LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, vector DBs).
Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
RESTful and GraphQL API design, OAuth/OIDC, and security best practices.
Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design and implement cloud-native services that are secure, resilient, observable, and cost-efficient.
Lead architectural decisions for distributed systems including service boundaries, data partitioning, caching, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
Build and maintain infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment workflows.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, plan capacity, and ensure availability and latency targets.
Champion reliability practices such as monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
Design and build integrations between core platforms and ERP systems covering finance, talent management, order management, and HR data.
Develop robust APIs, middleware, and data synchronization pipelines for cross-system consistency.
Translate business processes into technical workflows with IT, operations, and finance teams.
Ensure integrations are auditable, fault-tolerant, and compliant with data governance in US and EU.
Architect and extend CMS platforms with headless/API-first approaches for web/mobile delivery.
Build content models, custom modules, and publishing workflows for non-technical teams.
Optimize content delivery via CDNs, caching, and front-end performance best practices.
Design and deploy AI-powered features (LLM assistants, RAG, recommendations, classification, automation).
Integrate ML models and AI APIs into production with attention to latency, cost, evaluation, and safety.
Collaborate with data teams to build data pipelines for AI workloads.
Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
Contribute to long-term technical roadmaps and maintain high standards for code quality, testing, security, and documentation.
Communicate trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
