Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the operating system for the company, collaborating with reactor and manufacturing teams to accelerate design, fuel production, and licensing. You will craft full-stack software, REST/GraphQL integrations, and internal platforms, while owning deployment and observability in a highly regulated, fast-moving environment.

You’ll mentor engineers, review designs, and work across engineering, manufacturing, and operations to create tools

Qualifications

• 7+ years of writing software and deploying to production.
• Experience designing scalable, cross-team systems and driving tech decisions.
• Experience shipping web applications end to end, including UI.
• Cloud and containerized deployment, IaC, CI/CD experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, data modeling.
• Experience with AI coding agents and ensuring reliable outputs.
• Excellent communication and ownership of results.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering/science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and build full-stack software systems and infrastructure.
• Create fast web interfaces used by engineers, operators, and technicians.
• Integrate and extend PLM/ERP/MES/other systems via REST/GraphQL and messaging.
• Develop tooling to reduce manual document handling and ensure traceability.
• Own deployment, observability, and run books: CI/CD, IaC, monitoring, on-call.
• Design data models and boundaries for cross-team data integrity.
• Diagnose problems across client, service, data, deployment, and network layers.
• Leverage AI agents in workflows and review outputs rigorously.
