Paychex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and evolve enterprise applications in an Agile setting. You will lead analysis, architecture, coding, testing, and documentation for new and existing systems.

The role emphasizes modern tech adoption, code quality, and collaboration with teams to reach definition of done. Responsibilities include high level architecture, troubleshooting, and unit testing while exploring new technologies and patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer science or related field with 4+ years experience, or a Master's with 2+ years.
• 2+ years' SQL, Oracle or MySQL experience.
• Relational database concepts and data storage tech proficiency (SQL, Oracle, MySQL, NoSQL).
• 2+ years Cloud experience - Azure.
• 4+ years Web Service development.
• REST, WCF/SOAP, Node.js proficiency.
• 4+ years building Web Applications.
• Strong front‑end skills: ASP.Net MVC/WebForms, Angular, React, Ember, Knockout.js.
• 2+ years automated unit tests (MS Test).
• Agile environment familiarity and self-direction.

Responsibilities

• Code and design new applications per business and user specs.
• Lead design and document solutions; perform high level architecture.
• Troubleshoot, modify code, and prevent recurrence.
• Document changes and new applications; enable testing.
• Participate in unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure standards and quality.
• Research and recommend emerging technologies.
