Job summary

Paychex in Salt Lake City seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join an Agile team. You will perform system analysis, high-level architecture, coding, testing, and documentation for new and existing systems.

You’ll lead design efforts, drive technology choices, and mentor teammates while delivering on the team’s definition of done. You’ll influence with emerging technologies, participate in unit and integration testing, and collaborate across business and IT to deliver trusted HCM solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field with 4+ years of experience, or Master's with 2+ years.
• 2+ years with SQL, Oracle or MySQL and relational DB concepts.
• Experience with Azure cloud and Web Service development (REST/WCF/SOAP).

Responsibilities

• Code and design new applications from detail specs.
• Lead design and create documentation of solutions.
• High level architecture and analysis.
• Troubleshoot and modify existing code and files.
• Document changes and participate in testing (unit/integration).
• Perform code reviews and ensure quality standards.
• Troubleshoot issues and align with team done criteria.
• Research and recommend emerging technologies.
