Job summary

Paychex is seeking a senior technical leader to guide architecture across a portfolio of products and agile teams. You will shape design standards, develop SOA practices, and drive enterprise-wide architectural decisions to deliver scalable, reliable software solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with program management and product leadership, mentoring engineers, and producing clear technical documentation to support the Paychex strategic roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent in CS or related field.
• 10+ years of design and development of orchestration/integration components with middleware.
• Experience with loosely coupled architectures or service oriented architectures.
• Extensive experience designing mission critical, large scale, highly available, scalable software applications.
• 10+ years of experience designing, building and deploying scalable web/mobile enterprise apps.
• Experience transforming on-prem SAAS to cloud.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for agile teams and define high-level architecture and design.
• Develop future state architectures, roadmaps, standards, and SOA practices.
• Collaborate with senior managers and product teams to meet portfolio goals.
• Prepare and present architectural guidance to program and portfolio teams.
• Mentor junior architects and tech leads to share knowledge.
• Create and maintain architectural documentation and governance.
