Job summary

Paychex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Agile team, focusing on system analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment of new and existing applications. You will lead high-level architecture for features, influence technology choices, and push innovation while staying aligned with our definition of done.

The role requires strong background in REST, Node.JS, and multiple front-end frameworks, with experience across ASP.Net MVC/WebForms, Angular, and React.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience, or a Master's with 2+ years of experience.
• 2+ years of experience with SQL, Oracle or MySQL.
• Expertise in relational database concepts.
• Strong expertise in data storage technologies such as: Entity Framework, SQL, Oracle, MySQL, NoSQL (Hadoop, Mongo).
• 2+ years of experience with Cloud technologies - Azure.
• 4+ years of Web Service development.
• Strong experience with patterns such as: REST, WCF and/or SOAP, Node.JS.
• 4+ years building Web Applications.
• Strong expertise in multiple front end frameworks (ASP.Net MVC or WebForms, Angular, React, ember, Knockout.JS).
• 2+ years of experience building automated unit tests utilizing frameworks like MS Test.
• Strong understanding of unit testing concepts and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Code and design new applications based on detailed specifications of business and user requirements.
• Lead the design and create documentation of solutions.
• High level architecture and analysis.
• Troubleshoot and modify existing code and files to prevent recurrence.
• Document new applications or changes to existing ones.
• Participate in unit, integration, and business acceptance testing.
• Perform code reviews to ensure standards and quality.
• Troubleshoot application and system issues.
• Do whatever is necessary to reach the team\'s definition of done.
• Research, experiment and recommend emerging technologies.
