Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer to design, build, and maintain the Leo Aviation Solution software that runs aboard aircraft, enabling cabin network management, satellite connectivity, and OTA updates.

This hands-on role requires embedding experience, DO-178C standards, and collaboration across avionics, embedded systems, and cloud-to-edge components; you will influence architecture, interfaces, and implementation while

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development
• 5+ years of programming experience in at least one language
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems
• Experience as a mentor/tech lead
• Embedded development in C/C++ or equivalent system design experience
• Experience in managing/troubleshooting networks or full stack environments
• Experience in software QA testing including test plans and reports
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core Leo Aviation Solution modules from design through deployment
• Build production-quality software for certified embedded environments meeting DO-178C Level E
• Develop OTA software lifecycle pipeline with cryptographic validation and rollback
• Develop observability infrastructure and telemetry collection
• Contribute to interface definitions and Architecture Decision Records
• Build and execute DO-178C-aligned tests across cabin platforms
• Integrate software across multiple cabin hardware platforms with hardware abstraction
• Raise engineering bar through code reviews and knowledge sharing
