Job summary

General Motors is seeking a senior-level analytics engineer to advance evaluation platforms for autonomous driving. You will architect metrics, analyze simulation and on-road data, and drive end-to-end evaluation workflows across perception, prediction, and planning components.

You will apply ML and statistical methods to identify patterns, build dashboards, and share actionable insights with cross-functional teams, leadership, and external partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of robotics or autonomous systems software experience (sensors, perception, planning, etc.).
• 3+ years evaluating dynamic systems using numerical/ML approaches (time-series, derivatives, subsystems).
• Strong Python in production environments (testing, performance, code review).
• Proficiency with Pandas, NumPy, SciPy and plotting/visualization for large-scale data analysis.
• Comfort working with C++ codebases, including debugging and instrumentation of core algorithms.
• Experience with data-driven anomaly detection and root cause analysis.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and end-to-end feature ownership.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement metrics to introspect autonomous driving performance across the autonomy stack.
• Design analysis algorithms to summarize and cluster metrics from simulations and on-road runs.
• Develop statistical/ML methods to quantify performance across scenes and domains.
• Evaluate ML components in perception, prediction, and planning modules.
• Build and maintain autonomy evaluation dashboards and reports for teams and leadership.
• Leverage VLMs/LLMs to classify performance and prioritize validation efforts.
• Maintain high technical standards with reviews, testing, and observability.
