Job summary

General Motors is advancing autonomous driving evaluation. The Evaluation team builds the ecosystem powering development and scaling of GM’s autonomy tech, with metrics, automated workflows, and analysis that enable data-driven decisions across AV development and verification.

You will shape GM’s core evaluation platforms, translate system-level results into clear feedback for engineers and leadership, and help accelerate validated AV deployment at scale.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in robotics or autonomous systems software and data analysis.
• Experience evaluating dynamic systems with time-series data and ML approaches.
• Strong Python production experience with testing and code review.
• Proficiency with Pandas/NumPy/SciPy for large-scale data analysis.
• Experience with C++ and ROS is preferred.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in CS/Robotics/Engineering/ML or related field.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement metrics to introspect autonomous driving software performance across the autonomy stack.
• Design analysis algorithms summarizing metrics from simulations and on-road runs.
• Develop ML methods to quantify performance and identify patterns across scenes.
• Evaluate perception, prediction, and planning models.
• Build and maintain autonomy evaluation dashboards and reports with trend analysis and drift detection.
• Leverage VLMs/LLMs to classify performance and prioritize validation.
• Maintain high technical standards through design, reviews, testing, observability.
• Interface with cross-organizational partners to share requirements and best practices.
