Job summary

GreatAmerica is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy services and APIs across a range of business needs. You will work in a collaborative Agile team, mentor peers, and contribute to architecture discussions to align with business goals.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software engineering, expertise in C#, Swagger/OpenAPI, API design, and experience with Azure/MuleSoft. This position offers hybrid work in Des Moines area.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering with focus on services and APIs.
• Strong SQL-based databases and SQL programming experience.
• 5+ years in Agile development environments.
• 5+ years with Swagger/OpenAPI and API development.
• 5+ years with C# or similar OO language.
• 3+ years with Event-Driven Architecture and AsyncAPI.
• 3+ years working with Salesforce ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain services and APIs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and implement fixes in existing applications, services and APIs.
• Document and promote code according to engineering best practices.
• Engage in design discussions, create acceptance criteria and dependencies.
• Contribute ideas on process improvements and code reviews.
• Deploy and manage services in CI/CD environments.
• Mentor other engineers and present new APIs to stakeholders.
