Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize digital solutions for Payer operations. You will architect end-to-end integration patterns between cloud-native SaaS, Epic EMR, and Enterprise Data Platform, contributing to scalable, reliable data services.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Product teams, rigorous testing, and applying AI/ML where appropriate to automate workflows and improve data quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with dimensional data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing.
• Programming and modifying code in SQL, Python, and other languages for cloud/on-prem data warehousing services.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting data issues.
• Hands-on experience with performance improvement techniques.
• Willingness to identify and implement process improvements and take ownership in a fast-paced team environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect & build: design end-to-end integration patterns bridging cloud-native SaaS, core clinical systems, and data platforms.
• Quality & resilience: run system tests, debug, and perform peer code reviews for scalable, reliable integration layers.
• Stakeholder leadership: consult with Product and Business leads to refine requirements and design patterns.
• Innovation & AI: explore tools/frameworks and incorporate AI/ML to automate and improve processes.
• Documentation & governance: create architecture diagrams and best practices for platform self-service.
• Self-starter: handle ambiguity by asking targeted questions to stakeholders to develop solutions.
